To create a new WordPress post, first log in to your WordPress installation, then go to Posts > Add New. Here, you can add the post title, content, excerpt, and more.
If you are logged into your WordPress account, click on your username in the admin toolbar at the top right of the screen (if your admin bar is disabled, simply go to Users > Your Profile from the dashboard).
Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click the "Reset Password" option. Make a note of your password or add it to your password manager (e.g., 1Password) and save it.
If your account is locked, go to your login page (usually yourwebsite.url/wp-admin), click the "Forgot Password?" link, and follow the instructions to reset your password via email.
If for some reason these methods don't work, you can manually recover your password through phpMyAdmin or MySQL (but we recommend doing this only if you are familiar with coding).
The WordPress footer (like the sidebar) uses widgets (unless your theme includes a custom or alternative footer). You can make changes by going to Appearance > Widgets.
Just like the sidebar, if your theme includes custom options for footer columns, styles, copyright, etc., you may find them under Appearance > Customize > Footer or in the custom theme panel.
WordPress uses widgets to display content in the sidebar. To change widgets, open the dashboard and go to Appearance > Widgets. From here, you can add, remove, or reorder widgets by dragging and dropping, as well as customize the appearance of the sidebar using individual widget options.
Depending on your theme, you may also find additional sidebar customization options, such as colors, sidebar width, etc., under Appearance > Customize > Sidebar.
Your WordPress menu (or navigation) should contain links to key pages or posts on your website. From the WordPress dashboard, go to Appearance > Menus. From here, you can create, edit, and assign menus.
To upload a new logo, log in to WordPress and navigate to Appearance > Customize. Depending on your WordPress theme, you may see a "Branding" or "Header" section where you should find an option to upload a custom logo.
Alternatively, if your theme uses a custom theme panel instead of the WordPress customizer, simply select your theme panel from the main dashboard, find the Branding/Header section, and you will find a logo option.
Installing plugins is very simple. From your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New. From here, you can use the search function to find free plugins from WordPress.org, or you can click the "Upload Plugin" button to upload a zip file of a plugin you have purchased or downloaded from a third party.
You can use plugins to add various functionalities to your WordPress site. WordPress plugins are essentially add-ons for your website. Plugins typically add new features to your WordPress site with little effort on your part. Simply install and configure the plugin settings.
There are some common errors when installing a WordPress theme, with the most frequent one being "Missing Stylesheet." This means you are trying to install the wrong file or folder. The best approach is to double-check that you have uploaded the correct installable theme zip file (it should not be an open folder or a zip of all files and documents).
Another common error is a white screen when you try to install a new theme. This typically means you need to increase the server memory limit. Some hosting providers offer an option in the admin panel or cPanel, but you can always reach out to the support team of your hosting provider for assistance.
